Hi! My name is Emily and I am
leaving to go on an exchange program to Germany in 23 days. I’ll be spending my
sophomore year in Germany.
Four Possibly Interesting Things
About Me:
-My
favorite number is four.
-I’m
the oldest of three kids.
-I
love lots of things (mostly books, movies, music, and TV shows though).
-I
am unbelievably excited to go to Germany.
Now for the more important (or at
least the more interesting) part: telling you about my exchange program. I am
going to Germany thanks to CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange). This
amazing program was established to help improve the relationship between the US
and Germany. Every year 250 US and German students are given a scholarship to go on an exchange to the other country thanks to CBYX. I’ll be in gone for ten months, during which I will be attending a
German school and staying with a host family. One of the spectacular things about this program is that you are not required to speak German prior to leaving on the exchange. Once I arrive in Germany I'll have a three week intensive language camp where, as you can probably guess, the focus will be learning and/or improving our German skills. After the camp, we'll head out to our host families via train. I don't know who my host family is yet.
Overall, I am so excited to experience Germany and hope that this post hasn't bored you to death.
